[*Broad: do not try this at home, kids]
On the stage…
Lavishly lyrical wonderment from acclaimed Scottish singer-songwriter and founding member of The Delgados. New solo album ‘In Search of Harperfield’ is out this month from Chemikal Underground! Bringing some pals with her too. We are having a massive fangirl moment with this one, frankly. 🙂
MALACHY TALLACK & CHRISSY BARNACLE!
Malachy Tallack is an author, writer and songwriter whose debut book ’60 Degrees North’ was shortlisted for the Saltire Society First Book Award 2015, and was also serialised on Radio 4. He is also an accomplished songwriter, as is collaborator Chrissy Barnacle – a woman whose unique blend of storytelling and song is utterly spellbinding. Both Rally & Broad favourites. NICE.
KATIE AILES & CATHERINE WILSON!
Katie and Catherine are multiple slam-winning poets and both are rapidly gaining notice on the Scottish performance poetry scene, both individually and as part of the organising team behind popular event Loud Poets! We’re delighted to have them both on stage together for the first time at Rally & Broad!
JENNY LINDSAY & HEIR OF THE CURSED! (formerly Genesee)!
Jenny is the Rally of Rally & Broad, member of the Shift/ Collective, and a writer of poetry and other things for performance. Her debut show Ire & Salt (Aug 2015) gained a 4-star review from The Scotsman. Heir Of The Cursed is the new project from the amazing vocalist and musician formerly known as Genesee. A poetic/ theatrical/ musical mash-up of new work! Meep!
Well, there you go, pals. Would you miss this? Would you ever. See ye at the front. Ours is a Black Velvet.
